Persuasive Writing

I think student counselors are a valuable part of our school.

First of all I think student counselors are valuable because they organise the school assemblies making sure songs and teacher of the week have been chosen. They are therefore prepared for assembly. Natalie said “student counselors run assemblies well and that they always make sure everything is in place. Student counselors always have to have the assemblies ready before all the parents and 200 students come in.

I also think it is important that the student counselors give the pupils of the school a chance to speak. Mrs Kinaston aid “It’s a good opportunity for the students to have a vice”. The student council has created an ideas box where the kids of Auroa school can put their ideas throughout the week. I think student counselors give the kids a voice here at Auroa school.

Student counselors can help teachers to educate other students. Lexi said “They help the teachers organise activities and assist with jobs”. Student counselors can be called on throughout the school day to help other students understand their school work. Mr spice said “They make games for younger students during the school time”.

I personally think that student counselors are valuable and should be a compulsory part of all school.

I Think We Should Have To Do Chores Around The house

Firstly I think kids should have to do chores around the house because parents work very hard to afford things for us and so we should help them with chores around the house.

Secondly I think kids should have to do chores around the house because we need to start saving up for high school and college.

Thirdly I think kids should have to do chores because once all of the jobs are done around the house that's when you can do the fun stuff.

My conclusion is that kids should have to do chores around the house because it is a good thing to do and because we all love doing the fun stuff. And because one day we will be the parent and we will have to take responsibility.

TROT, TROT, TROT

Stepping up waiting in line. It pulls up in front of me, people start to jump out from the cart. The field is packed with people and cars and olden day machines.

15 people climbed up the wheel and into the cart where hay bales were surrounding the perimeter.  Giddy up he yells. "You can see everything from up here" I exclaimed. All I can hear is trot trot trot.

The wind whistles by my ear. "Would you like to hear the names" the man asked. "Yes" we all replied. I looked around there were hundreds of smiles surrounded me.

"I was having so much fun" Abby told me. People came and go, back and forth past me. And the best thing is you could have as many goes as you wanted. That was a good ending to the day.

'Lets do that again'

The Mysterious Voting

The Mysterious Voting

Shy, worried all these mixed emotions were inside of me. "Am I going to muck up?" I whispered. My stomach had flipped upside down. Then there was clapping 'who will be next' I wondered, As Mr Tai exclaimed "Lara" It was my turn.

I stood up and everybody's eyes were stuck to me like super glue. One stride at a time I got more and more anxious. As soon as I knew it I was saying my speech.

Heart pounding, Teeth chattering was I going to make it in. I couldn't wait for the results, I was so excited that I could have a chance to be a councillor. It seemed like forever  and then...

It was time for the results. Little bumps started to approach my arms. 'Will the results be good or bad' ran through my mind. "How many people will get in""Who will get in" I asked, It was a mystery.

'I hope I get in". If I fail I always have next year.

Kids should have school uniforms

Kids Should Have School Uniforms

Did you know that there are only 54% of New Zealand schools that wear school uniforms? I think kids should have to wear school uniforms to school because it represents your school, it saves parents money and it can take pressure off people because nobody is labeled, it also makes kids look tidyer.

All students in all schools should have to wear a school uniform because school uniforms tell people what school you go to and it also tells the community what school you represent.  When students go on a school trip it is easy to find students and for students to find their group because school uniforms are easily recognised.

46% of parents in New Zealand currently have to spend their money on mufti clothes for school.  They could save a lot of money by just buying one school uniform and washing it in the middle of the week. Kids would not want to wear one pair of clothes everyday for 5 days so parents would have to buy their children a lot more clothing. Another benefit is that parents can save money by handing down uniforms to younger siblings.

If schools have school uniforms then nobody can judge what people look like or what they wear because kids will all be wearing the same thing. It also produces bullying because nobody can say look at your ugly skirt or look at the hole s in your shoes.
