Forced Perspective Photography
What is forced perspective photography
Forced perspective photography is a technique that makes an object look larger, smaller, closer or farther away. This technique makes photos look more effective and interesting than just an everyday photo. Forced perspective photography is a different form of an optical illusion. In filmmaking you can make people look like dwarfs or giants by using different camera angles, trick scenery and props that can create a big difference in size and height.
What are we doing?
Today we are learning about Forced perspective photography. I collected a few images that inspired my image. I liked the idea of having a skirt made out of a flower look. This is my photo...

The genie in a bottle
Once upon a time there was a genie, Unfortunately, this particular genie was famous for botching things up. Whenever someone rubbed the magic lamp, he would come out and say, "What is your wish?" Then a great cloud of smoke would appear and hundreds of things would fly through the air.
When people stated their wish the object of their desire would appear in a cloud of dirt, covered in dust. So many, and so embarrassing were his botches that no one wanted him. His lamp ended up being used only to throw at people, just like a common old box; and the genie didn't come out of it for years, and became sad and depressed. That was, until a lonely boy found the lamp, and could hear the sad cries of the genie inside.
So the boy decided to try to become the genie's friend, and the wish he asked to be granted was to be able to enter and leave the lamp, just like the genie could, so they could spend time together. The genie was happy to grant this wish, and as soon as the boy entered the lamp, he could see what the genie's problem was. It wasn't that he was a bad genie. It was just that he couldn't have been less tidy! In the lamp everything was thrown all over the place, whether it be jewellery, books, boats or camels. It was obvious that the place hadn't seen a duster for years. Being a genie, he had all sorts of stuff in there, and as the lamp was small, everything was crammed in together that whenever the genie tried to get something, a cloud of dust would fly up.
The boy held his head in his hands, and the genie apologised, saying that a genie's job was very important and he hadn't had time for cleaning. But the boy remembered his mother's advice, and told the genie that the more important his job was, the more important it was that he keep all his things in order. And together they decided to give the place a good clean. It took them quite a few days, but when they finished, everything was gleaming and in its correct place. Now it was dead easy to find whatever gift was asked for, and to retrieve it without breaking anything, And so it was that the genie began to be respected and admired once more.
He learned that nothing great can be achieved without order and cleanliness in all things. It took them quite a few days, but when they finished, everything was gleaming and in its correct place. Now it was dead easy to find whatever gift was asked for, and to retrieve it without breaking anything. And so it was that the genie began to be respected and admired once more. Powerless
Taking small steps towards the depressed colours laid across the road. Alice can feel the hard gravel on her feet. My face gets pulled up by the sound of a familiar voice, it’s Jorja.
“Are you heading to school?”.
“Yeah” I reply. Walking shyly through the polished metal gates. Pushing past a crowd of kids, My body collides with another. My eyes focused on the clear glass door standing in my path.
I made my way to the corridor where I entered my class. The relaxing warm air flew at me as I invaded the enclosured surrounding. Happy thoughts overtook the feeling that had just happened. I felt confused as I stood before hundreds, It felt like a million eyes were staring at me.
“Good morning everyone” Miss Kate exclaimed.
“As you can see we have a new student here with us today”.
‘What if nobody likes me, what if I don't fit in’. I had 1 brain and 1000 things going through it. The bell bellowed in my ear. I walk towards Myah, Abby and Katie as they lay among the luscious green grass. Eyes fixed on the beautiful baby blue sky. Each second brung me closer and closer to them. Looking over at me, they say
“What do you want”
“I was thinking I might be able to join in” I whispered with dread.
Then without any answer they jumped up, and left me there all alone. The cold wind whistled in my ear, sending a shiver through my body. ‘I’ll never be the same’ I thought, My eyes caught a glimpse of Miss Kate approaching me. I felt a tear fall from my small green eyes, as I thought of what she was coming over to me for. Words started to blurt out of her mouth. The day had ruined me, my heart was broken. Nobody liked me and everybody thought that I was a loser. I was a failure, I wasn’t good at anything.
“Hello darling, did you make any new friends?” Asked Denise.
“No” I moaned as I stormed up the elevating stairs.
The world was awake and the smell of baked beans on toast filled the air. Waiting for mum to storm up the stairs to tell me it was time to eat. I rolled out of bed, pulled on my clothes and thought ‘another day of suffering’. I walked down the stairs, and ate to my delight.
“ Hey Alice, don’t let anyone get you down”
This piece of hope had just brightened up my whole day. I loved school, It was the only thing apart from breakfast that motivated me each day. Climbing out the door I came face to face with the morning dew. I had finally arrived at the gate and I was ready to start my day. I hung my bag onto the cloak labeled Alice. I heard footsteps coming up the corridor towards me. I quickly turned around to hear voices coming from the classroom so I went to see who it was, It was Katie, Abby and Myah. I wondered what they were talking about. “Speak of the devil here she is” exclaimed Katie. They were whispering about me. I see the door open within a second I see Miss Kate came in.
“Girls my office now” Miss Kate demanded,
“Do you girls have something to say to Alice” She questioned
They turned around ashamed of themselves 3 girls and 1 pray.
“Stop talking about her behind her back, Treat others the way you want to be treated” Jorja said seriously.
“Thanks” I told her.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities
“Lara, have you made your bed? Lara, pack your bag! Lara, can you empty the dishwasher? Lara this Lara that.. don’t you just hate it when your parents are constantly breathing down your neck?!”
By now you’ve probably worked out that my name is Lara. I am 11 years old. Some days the list of chores I have to do at home feel like it's longer than my arm span, at other times it feels like it's growing at the same rate as my height.
Being responsible means having to work things out without having someone check that I’ve done them properly. For me at home, my responsibilities are things like setting and clearing the table after a meal, feeding the cat, making sure my room is clean and tidy along with other chores that my parents might ask me to do. I have to complete my jobs without being reminded and before mum or dads invisible alarm clock goes off and I start hearing the dreaded drone of repetitive whining …. when I was your age, I used to have to get up at 6 o'clock in the morning, rain hail or shine and…. blah blah blah.
Pets, Do you have one? Did you have to beg your parents to get it? Most kids have pets because they begged and begged and begged. Are you one of them? Did you promise that you’ll look after it, and feed it?! Studies show that 49% of the population plead to get a pet. It alsostates that kids end up getting bored with them and stop looking after them so our parents have to step in and become the primary caregiver. Having a pet just cost money from buying the animal to paying for their meals.
Who likes cleaning their room? Well I don’t really know what it's like, I’m one of the 22% of kids that like their room to be clean twenty four seven. For me I always walk into my room and then everything is put away. Are you like me or are you the kid who wonders, What's the point of cleaning your room?. When I was younger, I thought cleaning my room was a waste of time. Let me tell you, everybody hates cleaning their room but if you share a room with your siblings it can get pretty messy.
Don't you just hate chores? Well I know I do. All kids think chores are a punishment or jobs our parents are too lazy to do. Most of us think chores were invented to ruin our lives, but actually chores are designed to set us up for adulthood. Believe it or not chores were worse than this in the 19th century. Washing clothes took all day, Imagine milking a cow by hand? And ironing your clothes with an iron heated off a Cole range.
Derek Fisher - a very successful American sportsman, coach and five time world champion for basketball once said “With my responsibilities comes having to manage my time more effectively”.What us kids don't realise is that we are given chores to pull our weight around our homes. We get pets as a present or something to make us happy. And we are given messy siblings to keep us entertained while we have nothing to do.
Thank you

Help
“The plane will be passing Bora Bora on our way to the Great Barrier Reef” The pilot announced. I looked out the oval framed transparent glass to look at the view that stretched for miles. “Hi, Im April, Today I’m traveling to the great barrier reef.” “I’m really excited because we get to take the route of flying over the stunning island of Bora Bora”. Well as I was enjoying my quiet trip in a first class seat, I started to hear the dreaded sound of fighting, from the 5 year old twins Lincoln and Lochlain. I could hear them from across the aisle. Trying to block out the horrid sound and embrace my once in a lifetime experience, I reclined luxurious white seat backwards.
Looking around I notice that everyone is dozing off. I was unsure why this was happening. ‘ Was it the new change in scene, were they trying to relax, or was something wrong?’ I thought to myself. My eyes slowly closed, I instantly fell into what felt like a deep coma. Lying there in a deep sleep, my body started to awaken again. A vibrating shiver climbed up my back like a mountain biker struggling to peddle up Mt Taranaki. Lifting my arm from beside my stiff body, To reach behind my back so I could latch onto my phone. Twitching my index finger to the answer button.
“Hello, It’s April speaking” My voice stuttered. “Good afternoon April” It's Mykel Hawke's here. “I’m calling you to inform you that your plane is going down, Are you able to warn others” He asked me. “Mykel Hawke's, Sir, I think we're running out of oxygen” I mentioned. “Do you have any idea where you are” “We are just flying over the Island of Bora Bora”. Leaning onto the window, searching for oxygen, “Help” I begged. “Just hold on, we’re coming into a landing” Ashley our flight attendant said.
My ears captured a noise from outside the enclosure room. I opened the doors curiously to hear the pilot saying “ Fasten your seatbelts, we're going down “. As my anxious self I secured my seat belt to the tightest that it could go. It felt as if I was sitting there waiting to crash, probably because I was. I couldn’t do anything to help myself except to sit there quietly and hope for the best result.
A million memories rushed throughout my mind, Sad ones, Happy ones, Funny ones and the best of all the special ones.
‘How long do I have left to live’ “Don’t worry” Ashley reminded everyone. I felt the plane dance from one side to side, as if the plane was dancing the salsa. It finally felt as if the crash was actually happen, Rather than a fairytale gone wrong. The plane tilted forward as if we were going to crash into the ground at any second. The compact of the sand hitting the tip of the plane. ‘Who’s fault was it’, ‘Who made us crash?’ I wanted to know who did this to us. Sitting up from my reclined leather chair, Striding over to the pit to see if the pilot was conscious. I was the only person who was up and moving. Walking up to the dented metal door of the plane. Kicking and pushing the door but it wouldn’t budge. I had to go with plan B, smash the window so we could escape. Reaching for the neon orange glass breaker, Tapping the shiny silver tips onto the glass. I was surprised when it smashed on the first tap. Pulling myself out of the small opening to take a big gasp of fresh air. I was relieved, I doubted that I would have made it out alive. Taking one last breath of air, I jump back into the deformed plane, I walk up the aisle, Trying to retrieve everyone to consciousness.
I lifted my arm to show everybody to the exit. In a single file line they all strode forward to the vibrant blue sky with the balls of cotton floating above. For all I knew, we were stranded on an island that everyone wishes to go to. The only upside to this disaster was that we will get to stay in a relaxing hotel even if all the 5 star hotels are booked out. Making my way around the line of people blocking the aisle, I jumped out the window and helped the line of kids and adults out onto the hot sand.
Once everyone had escaped from the enclosure plane, we made our way to the river to take a big gulp of fresh cool water. Looking around searching for a hotel. Climbing up the crackly sand to the monoroof hotel, that sat on the tip of a hill. I go to enter the hotel to find Mykel Hawke's sitting at a varnished wooden chair.
Approaching him, “Hello” Mr Hawke’s
“Hello, is it April” He asked puzzled
“Do you wanna join me for a meal” He exclaimed
“Sure” I answered
“It’s a hard decision to choose in my eyes, what you would like to order”
“I think I might order the Fruit salad!, It’s the perfect mixture”
I finished my meal as if I hadn’t eaten in a month. Walking to the checkin to question if they had any rooms free.
“You got lucky, we never have rooms free” she said
Making my way up the staircase to the room labeled 28, shoving the key into the lock and opening the rimu door. Throwing myself onto the white sheets, spreading my body across the bed. The sound of my ringtone danced around my ear, I picked my phone up to answer. “Its April speaking” I answered
“We’re sending you and the other passengers a free ticket to ride the Air Tahiti Nui airline” She said happily
“Thank you, Thank you” I said thankfully
Hanging the phone up, Grabbing my suitcase and rushing down the swirl of stairs. Dropping the keys at the counter and collecting everyone from the lobby. Rushing out the door and off to the airport we are. I got out of there and into the airport in less than a heartbeat.
I was anxious of what had just happened to me less than a day ago. I was still scared of what might happen to me when we got onto the airplane and into air. But I was so excited to get to the Great Barrier Reef and see my family. I couldn’t wait to get to the Australian airport and be able to let go of all my negative thoughts and feelings about the trip. I had already planned the way that I was going to tell everyone about the best and the worst time of my life, But nothing would ever beat the feeling of being surrounded by family and friends...

Music
Did you know there are some amazing places that you can go to and look at all of the history and newest news of music. Music is a way that people can express there feelings and show weather they are happy, sad and all there emotions. Music can be included in a lot of things such as, concerts, recordings, performances and tracks. Currently I am paying the piano at Auroa school with my teacher Mrs Perrett ( Bev Perrett ). I am learning the song unsteady by X Ambassadors.
